Meet Our Physicians

Dr. Berst's hometown is Waverly, Iowa. He studied pre-medicine at Central College in Pella, Iowa and then went on to medical school at the University of Iowa. After completing medical school, Dr. Berst started his Radiology residency at the University of Iowa. He completed his fellowship training in 2006 and joined Advanced Radiology, S.C. in July of that same year. He has been board certified in Radiology since June 2005.

J. Douglas Biegert, M.D.

Dr. Biegert's hometown is Overland Park, Kansas. He studied German language and literature at Lawrence University in Wisconsin and then went on to the University of Kansas Medical School. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Biegert completed an internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and then practiced General Medicine for several years. He then went back to the University of Kansas and completed a Radiology residency at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Biegert has been board certified in Radiology since 1991.

Susan Bird, M.D.

Dr. Bird's hometown is Oak Park, Illinois. She studied biology at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana before entering medical school at the University of Iowa. After completing medical school, Dr. Bird started her Radiology residency at the University of Iowa. Dr. Bird joined Advanced Radiology, S.C. in July 1994. She has been board certified in Radiology since June 1994.

Steven Cremer, M.D.

Dr. Cremer is from Dubuque, Iowa. He studied biology and German at the University of Iowa and then went on to medical school at the University of Iowa. He completed his Radiology residency and additional sub-specialty training in an Abdominal Imaging fellowship at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Dr. Cremer has a strong passion for learning, which was demonstrated with an additional visiting fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Cremer has been a board certified Radiologist since 1998.

Nathan Durick, M.D.

Dr. Durick's hometown is Geneseo, Illinois. He studied psychology at the University of Iowa prior to attending medical school at the University of Illinois Chicago in Peoria. Following medical school, he completed an internship at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and a Radiology residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. Dr. Durick completed a Body Imaging fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. Dr. Durick has been board certified in Radiology since June 2007.

Andrew Ellingson, M.D.

Dr. Ellingson's hometown is Newton, Iowa. He studied biology and chemistry at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa and then went to medical school at the University of Iowa. After completing medical school, Dr. Ellingson started his residency at the University of Iowa. Following completion of his residency, he immediately started a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Iowa. He completed his training in June 2007 and joined Advanced Radiology, S.C. in July of that same year. He has been board certified in Radiology since June 2006.

Timothy Humes, M.D.

Dr. Humes grew up in Rock Island, Illinois and studied biology at Illinois State University. He graduated from medical school at Northwestern University. Dr. Humes completed his Radiology residency at the University of Tennessee and returned to Northwestern University for formal fellowship training in Interventional Radiology. Dr. Humes has been board certified in Radiology since 1995.

Kyle Kreinbring, M.D.

Dr. Kreinbring's hometown is Preston, Iowa. Dr. Kreinbring studied biology and pre-medicine at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and then completed medical school at the University of Iowa. After finishing medical school, he went to Southern Illinois University for his residency in Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Kreinbring completed additional sub-specialty training in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the University of Iowa. Dr. Kreinbring honorably served several years in the military prior to joining Advanced Radiology in 2003. Dr. Kreinbring has been board certified in Radiology since 1999.

Pranav Patel, M.D.

Dr. Patel's hometown is Iowa City, Iowa. He studied both biomedical engineering and biochemistry as an undergraduate and then went to medical school at the University of Iowa. After finishing medical school, Dr. Patel stayed in Iowa City to complete his residency in Radiology. After residency, he did further sub-specialty training in Musculoskeletal Radiology and Pain Management as an Associate Fellow at the University of Iowa. Dr. Patel has been board certified in Radiology since 2003.

George Patramanis, M.D.

Dr. Patramanis is from Moline, Illinois and studied both biology and pre-medicine at Augustana College. He completed medical school at the University of Illinois. He completed his Radiology residency at the University of Illinois Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and also completed additional sub-specialty training with a fellowship in Body Imaging from Northwestern University. Dr. Patramanis has been board certified in Radiology since 1999.

Yang Rhee, M.D.

Dr. Rhee is originally from Kunsan, South Korea and performed his undergraduate and medical school training at Chonnam National University. He completed his medical internship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and then a Radiology residency at Hines VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois. Dr. Rhee's medical interests include Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging and Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Rhee has been board certified since 1977 and recently retired in July 2009.

Melvin Richards, M.D.

Dr. Richards' hometown is Tingley, Iowa. He studied pre-medicine and then went on to complete medical school at the University of Iowa. After an internship at Baylor University in Texas, he returned to the Midwest for a Radiology residency at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Richards was a practicing Radiologist in the United States Army for several years prior to joining Advanced Radiology. He has been board certified in Radiology since 1971.

Reid Schroeder, M.D.

Dr. Schroeder is from Lombard, Illinois and studied biology at Augustana College. He completed medical school at Northwestern University. Dr. Schroeder stayed at Northwestern University for his Radiology residency. Dr. Schroeder has been board certified in Radiology since 1995. Dr. Schroeder's medical interests include gastrointestinal imaging.

Dipak Shah, M.D.

Dr. Shah is originally from Sankheda, India and performed his undergraduate and medical school training at Baroda Medical College in India. He completed his Radiology residency and Neuroradiology fellowship at Hines VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois. Dr. Shah was a staff physician at the Hines VA Hospital for several years before moving to the Quad Cities. Dr. Shah has been board certified in Radiology since 1979 and received a certificate of added qualifications in Neuroradiology in 2005.

John Swanson, M.D.

Dr. Swanson's hometown is Rockford, Illinois. He studied biology at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and then completed medical school at Saint Louis University. Dr. Swanson completed his Radiology residency at Southern Illinois University and has been board certified since 2004. Dr. Swanson's medical interests include nuclear medicine with a focus on Positron Emission Tomography (PET imaging).

Casey Veach, M.D.

Dr. Veach's hometown is Dubuque, Iowa. She studied biology at Iowa State University in Ames, IA before attending medical school at the University of Iowa. Following medical school, she completed an internship and Radiology residency at Southern Illinois University. Dr. Veach graduated from her residency in 2008 and joined Advanced Radiology, S.C. in July of that same year.
